SoundCheck users may have noted that the familiar 'Print to Word' and 'Export to Excel' options from SoundCheck 7 are no longer available in SoundCheck 8, at least not in their traditional form. These functions still exist, but they are wrapped up in the new Report Generator feature. Both of these options used to be accessed via menu options on individual display windows:

Released in summer 2008, SoundCheck 8 has improvements that are detailed in a pdf available on the Listen, Inc. web site. Here is a link:
Major improvements have been made to the Printing Editor - for Word, Excel and HTML outputs. Graphics are now added to Excel spreadsheets, as well as the raw data. Formatting is improved with the addition of templates.
Calibration has been...

If we can't, we would like that feature to be included in future updates.

Here's a brief write-up with some ideas on how to organize your SoundCheck systems for multiple users. This will keep people from overwriting and making changes to each other's sequences, and thus, peace and harmony return to the test lab.

Just thought I'd offer up a little trick for those of you writing sequences. If you're creating a lot of sequences with similar step configurations this can save you a whole lot of time!
Let's say you want to reuse a step from one of your existing sequences in a new one. Well, you can always just select that step from its category in the sequence editor and throw it...

How do I calculate the Crest Factor of a waveform as part of a sequence in SoundCheck?
Does this require the Custom Equation Editor?
What equation do you use?
Thanks!

I am a brand new user of SoundCheck. The user manual says there are tutorials available. I did not do the install and I do not have the install CDs or DVDs, I only have a PC "as found" with SoundCheck 7.02 installed. There are no folders or files containing "tutorial". Can someone please tell me what the tutorials are and where I might find them? When I choose...

We want to run our SoundCheck sequences from a single folder on the network. How do we configure our systems so that the Hardware and Calibration steps are unique for each system?

SoundCheck 7.0 features full multichannel acquisition An unlimited number of channels enables you to use as many channels simultaneously as your hardware and computer memory can support.
This offers advantages for many types of testing including:
Production testing of surround sound electronics: All channels can be measured simultaneously, enabling an entire surround sound test to be...

One of our prouction testers we are still using Soundcheck version 5.0. I am making dB measurements at 4 seperate dB levels. 3 of the levels appear to be working fine. One of them gives me a result of "Inf"
All 4 levels used to work. I think someone got into an area they were not supposed to be and modified the test in some way. I have stepped through the steps in the...

Sometimes we use soundcheck as a sound source, and mostly we find that only one channel is far from actual demands. It would be much better if soundcheck can output both channel simultaneously.

Currently we have the FFT tool to convert a time domain signal into spectrum. However sometimes we already have the spectrum and want to inverse it into time domained. Partly it's fulfilled in Adobe Audition. However in Audition we can only "draw" the spectrum point by point with mouse and turns to be a burden sometime. It would be great if one day we can import the spectrum and...

I am a newbie, so forgive the simplicity of this question.
I have a test setup on a production line. For some types of tests we want to use an anechoic chamber, and for others, a reverberant chamber.
My question is, can one Sound Check system with a 2 channel sound card execute different tests on both chambers, and display a go/no-go result for each independently?

We have been testing the operation of SoundCheck on 64 bit processor computers and 64 bit operating systems. The following list details the observations made during these tests.
SoundCheck 6.1x installs and performs with no problems on Intel 64 bit processor systems with Windows XP SP2b operating system. One system tested was a Dell GX620 with a P4 Prescott DT 650 processor. Motherboard...

If you've ever tried working with large fonts in Windows, the you've probably run into some kind of font size issue in SoundCheck. By default, SoundCheck uses the Windows font size for the controls and indicators found in the application dialogs. This may cuase problems if you are using large fonts in Windows. For example, the tabs in the Analysis Editor or the Memory List have a problem...

Maybe you've noticed that your SoundCheck does not have certain features that are mentioned by others in these forums or at your work. This could be due to two reasons:
1) You are using an older version (see upgrading topic in this forum)
2) Your SoundCheck does not have certain optional modules
SoundCheck is built according to your requireements with optional modules....
