Easy, Fast
Accurate
We will be demonstrating how SoundCheck is
EASY to set up a loudspeaker or microphone test with the
new Sequence Wizard, FAST to make measurements with a
complete mixing board test, and ACCURATE for measuring
audio electronics with a demonstration of an MP3 player
test. We will also be highlighting some of the new
features that will be coming in Version 8, scheduled for
release in January 2008. These include enhanced printing
functionality which enables much greater flexibility and
customization of reports in Word, Excel and HTML. The
Sequence Editor features several enhancements: comment
lines may now be added and steps now indicate the data
in and data out, which simplifies sequence programming.
Right-click operation facilitates navigation and makes
it faster to make changes. A MLS stimulus signal has
been added, and an overload/underload indicator helps
the user monitor signal level.

Paper Presentation -
Time-Frequency Analysis
A paper by Pascal Brunet, Zachary Rimkunas
and Steve Temme on "Evaluation of
Time-Frequency Analysis Methods and Their Practical
Applications" will be
presented as part of the 'P7 -
Signal Processing, Part 3' session on Saturday, October 6, 9:00 am -
11:30 am. This paper compares the application of four
types of time-frequency analyses: Short Time
Fourier Transform (STFT), Cumulative Spectral Decay (CSD), Wavelet, and
Wigner-Ville, explains their trade-offs, and discusses
how to apply them to analyzing audio
devices.
