Welcome to TALK... the newsletter from Listen, Inc., leaders in the
field of PC-based audio test and measurement. It contains the lastest news
about our products, our company and useful tips and tricks to help you get
more from your acoustic measurement testing. It is our aim to make this

please drop us an email and let us know what you think. We will be demonstrating the recently released SoundCheck 6.0, a
versatile PC based audio test system that can be configured for
laboratory or production applications.
This new version is more powerful than ever before, offering a
host of new analysis features and an updated user interface. Key new
features include the ability to measure two-tone distortion,
confidence limits, and the ability to reanalyze acquired waveforms
in multiple ways.

The electroacoustics course, on June 13, will be taught by
consultant John Bareham. It will cover the measurement fundamentals
which apply to loudspeakers, microphones, telephones, mobile phones,
hearing aids, and many other related devices.
The SoundCheck 6.0 training course, on June 14-15, will be taught
by acoustics experts at Listen. This course is ideal for engineers
and technicians who are responsible for measurement and analysis of
the acoustical performance of electroacoustic products, either in
R&D or Production. Current SoundCheck customers and individuals
interested in thoroughly evaluating SoundCheck as an audio test
platform are encouraged to attend.

SoundCheck can test to industry standards such as TIA-810A &
920,and carry out industry standard tests such as calculation of
loudness loss ratings. In addition, its unique point-and-click
interface makes it fast and easy to develop your own test routines.

Question: How do I connect a Bluetooth/USB headset to SoundCheck
for testing?
Answer: Built into Windows XP is a Bluetooth Connection wizard.
You will need a computer with a Bluetooth Audio Gateway and headset
profile built-in (typically found on laptops nowadays) or you can
buy a USB to Bluetooth wireless adaptor or "dongle" like the D-Link DBT- 120.
Once you have connected your Bluetooth dongle, run the Bluetooth
Setup Wizard.
