DevOps Engineer
The DevOps engineer plays a critical role in Listen’s Software delivery process to ensure the highest level of product quality for our flagship audio test product, SoundCheck, for both Windows and MacOS.
In this position, you will work closely with both the Software and Support/Validation teams. You will devise appropriate smoke and integration tests, create new builds and installers, and approve product releases based on test data.
You will also maintain and improve our Continuous Integration test framework to run reliable automated validation tests using a combination of Jenkins, Python, and LabVIEW, and maintain and develop our licensing utility using Python. You may also design and build analysis tools to enhance our test and development environment.
Additionally, you will be responsible for providing IT support and maintaining systems used by the company.
Responsibilities:
- DevOps and Integration Lead: leadership position within Engineering; become the go-to resource for all DevOps related work
- Create: builds and installers
- Release Validation: responsible for monitoring performance during development including implementing feature verification testing, build process and quality, release smoke testing and feature performance tracking. Manage all certification needs for product releases
- Monitor and Debug: keep a close eye on various dashboards, debug test-related issues and alert responsible party
- Automate: regression testing, performance testing – extend pytest framework
- Configure: streams in Perforce, including branching, stream mapping
- Support: company wide systems (servers, email, phones, computers, test machines), and IT assistance for departments and employees
- Interface: with external IT support to escalate tickets as required
- Maintain: long term infrastructure plans, and documentation for internal technology processes
Requirements:
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with members from different teams
- 1+ years’ experience in testing Software requirements, including devising, rolling out and maintaining performance testing (manual and automated)
- 1+ years’ hands-on experience in Continuous Integration, or alternatively in a variety of Integration Processes to help get Listen’s Software release process to Best in Class standards
- 3+ years’ experience of using scripting languages (preferably Python) for building integration and test processes
- Proven track record in defining, executing and maintaining DevOps tasks
- Proficiency in Python, LabVIEW, QTIF, C++, Agile/Scrum, Jira, Version Control, shell scripting Confluence (or other requirements/testing tools) preferred
- Troubleshooting experience, technology experience, Office365, Google Apps

West Coast Sales Engineer / Account Manager – Audio Test & Measurement
Location: Bay Area, CA

We’re looking for an outstanding audio enthusiast with strong sales experience and a robust technical background to manage our accounts on the West Coast. With accounts ranging in size from start-ups to some of the world’s largest corporations, this is our most strategically important territory. In this hands-on, consultative sales role, your combination of audio knowledge and sales skills will make you a subject expert and go-to salesperson to ensure 100% customer satisfaction and steady business growth.
You will manage our portfolio of existing accounts in the territory, as well as grow our business through new opportunities. You will be expected to work independently (with strong backup from our Boston-based management, marketing, and support teams) to manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting, through product demos to quoting and closing. We work in a high-tech and fast-paced environment, so the ability to juggle multiple high-value projects and be attentive to all stakeholders is critical.

Travel up to 40%. Regular travel is required to cover a territory that stretches along the West Coast from WA to MX, as well as quarterly visits to Boston and occasional international travel.

Technical Support Engineer
Location: Boston, MA
Listen, Inc., the world leader in audio test and measurement systems, is searching for a technical support engineer to be part of a small but diverse team providing frontline support to users of our SoundCheck audio measurement software and related hardware. In addition to providing technical support, your responsibilities may include customer training, contributing technical information for marketing content, and performing QA tasks for the software development team.
SoundCheck, our flagship product, is a powerful, scalable electroacoustic software test solution used by the world’s most recognizable audio and consumer electronics brands for both production test and R&D of audio products. In this role, you will directly interface with Listen’s world-wide customer base as well as our global network of sales partners.
Candidates should have an interest in audio and/or test & measurement and be familiar with setting up and using audio hardware. Excellent technical and troubleshooting skills are necessary, as is a helpful attitude and enthusiasm for dealing with customers via phone, email and in-person.Your enthusiasm will be key as you learn from and share knowledge with other team members, and use your creativity and troubleshooting skills to solve problems. Senior Software Engineer – LabVIEW
Location: Boston, MA
We are searching for a smart, enthusiastic and innovative software engineer with a passion for LabVIEW and is highly proficient with complex LabVIEW application architectures such as Actor Framework. You will be a key technical leader within the development team, creating new features and solutions while maintaining a large code base for SoundCheck, Listen’s flagship electroacoustic test software. This position requires commitments to following-through, testing, and implementation in order for the team to deliver critical software releases. You will be enthusiastic to learn from and share knowledge with other team members, and be willing to find solutions to programming challenges that are new to the team. A perfectionist streak, pride in your work and attention to detail (as well as a willingness to be open about challenges and discuss them with others) are key characteristics that are required for this role.
SoundCheck’s annual releases with new functionality ensure that there is always something exciting to work on, and make it critical that you maintain product quality while working to strict deadlines. The Product
SoundCheck is a powerful large scale LabVIEW-based electroacoustic test software solution, used for R&D and production line testing of loudspeakers, microphones, hearing aids, telephones, headphones, headsets, MP3 players, and other audio electronics. Responsibilities
- Software Development: maintaining and developing features in SoundCheck using the LabVIEW programming language.
- Feature Design: responsible for requirements gathering, specification writing, accurate work estimates, and new feature definition, development, and demonstrations for approval
- Code Reviews: review and offer feedback for other developers’ LabVIEW code
- Testing: design and development of unit and integration tests to validate features under development
- Mentoring: responsible for the mentoring and coaching of junior developers as they accomplish their own development tasks
- Customer Support: supporting customers with the development of custom virtual instruments in SoundCheck
- Hiring Support: responsible for interviewing and qualifying the technical skills of candidates for the Software team
- Triage Process: contributes to the review and assessment of SoundCheck bugs as reported by customers and Support and takes on the responsibility of fixing the more complex problems
Required
- 10+ years of experience developing in LabVIEW
- Familiarity with Actor Framework, and Object Oriented Design principles
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in in a technical discipline
- Proven track record of delivering on-time, quality LabVIEW-based applications
- Experience working with legacy code and refactoring
- Experience with, and an appreciation for, good user interface design
- Methodical approach to coding, testing and documentation
- Proven self-starter, who can manage and prioritize workload to meet product development deadlines

Asia Pacific Sales Application Engineer
Listen, Inc. is looking to expand its sales team with an Asian based Sales Application Engineer who enjoys a customer facing role. This job reports to the Sales Director located in the Boston office. Must be based in Asia.
The Sales Application Engineer works as the area representative of the sales team and as the technical expert behind the sale. The SE must have/gain deep product knowledge and technical expertise in the audio test and measurement space along with demonstrated customer facing sales skills. We are looking for someone who can create sales presentations, product demonstrations, and educate customers (especially R&D and production engineers) on the technical side of Listen’s product set while always looking toward closing sales.
Job Requirements:
- Conduct discovery calls to prospective customers in partnership with Listen’s channel partners and directly to accounts in countries where Listen has no representation.
- Prior experience working with Asian based Resellers, System Integrators and Distributors. Ability to find, qualify, research, sign and train new partners in underserved markets for Listen Products.
- Excellent people skills, and experience in a customer facing role. Previous history of selling or supporting scientific or audio equipment or high-tech computer-based products. Excellent presentation skills, and a desire to work with end user customers. Ability to build long-term relationships and a consultative sales approach. Experience selling a high-value product with sometimes lengthy sales cycles, repeat business and the need for excellent after-sales support.
- Experience working with Contract Manufacturers in China.
- Managing escalations from customers and partners back to the Boston office regarding both technical challenges and new product/feature requirements while addressing the concerns with the partner and customer to drive short term and long-term improvements.
- Working with the marketing team to provide technical input and market feedback into documentation, articles, websites, etc., and producing technical documentation for our support knowledgebase.
- Become well versed in the important industry players, changes in the manufacturing landscape technology developments that will impact Listen.
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin
- Ability and desire to travel up to 50% of the time in the Asia region and occasionally back to the Boston office.
