By default, SoundCheck overwrites any data that isn’t protected or saved after each subsequent run of your sequence, or if the program is closed. However, it’s easy to configure your tests to protect and autoprotect your measurement data so that subsequent runs of your sequences don’t overwrite any of your existing test results. Soundcheck allows you to protect Items in the Memory List, so that subsequent runs of your sequences don’t overwrite any of your existing test data. By default, SoundCheck overwrites any data that isn’t protected or saved after each subsequent run of your sequence, or if the program is closed.
If you want to keep data and not overwrite it, you can simply select the data from an individual run of the sequence in the memory list and protect it, or , in your sequence you can auto protect the data, which will automatically save data for each and every iteration of the sequence.
Using the Memory List Sorting and Grouping functions, SoundCheck can save all protected and auto protected data to its own Auto Group in the Memory List, making it easy to distinguish what data is protected when recalling a sequence.
Here we are looking at a looping sequence in which pink noise is played back starting at -40dB, and increases in amplitude in 5dB steps for five passes.
Normally, after each run of the sequence, the data previously displayed is overwritten with data from the current run of the sequence. Once I select my recorded data in the Memory List, and right-click to select “Protect” it, that data and only that data will remain in the memory list and displayed on my graph.
If I instead choose to Auto Protect any chosen values, after every run of my sequence, the data for those values is appended in the memory list, and the five new curves are added to my display. This data isn’t deleted from the memory list unless you manually delete it, or if you discard it when closing SoundCheck.
This enables you to access and recall the data outside of the sequence in which it was originally recorded. Even live curves, created by the RTA, can be protected.
