See Us at AES in LA Oct 2014

AES LogoWe will be exhibiting and presenting a paper at the 137th AES which will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, Los Angeles, CA on Oct 9-12, 2014.

At our booth (#1525) we will be demonstrating the latest release of the SoundCheck software, as well as showcasing our entire audio test hardware lineup. We will be demonstrating how you can test virtually any type of audio or audio electronic device with the SoundCheck test system, and showing off some of the latest features.

Listen President, Steve Temme will co-present a paper with Dr. Sean Olive of Harman International. The paper, entitled ‘The Correlation Between Distortion Audibility and Listener Preference in Headphones’ attempts to define the relationship between objective testing using various distortion measurement techniques and listener preference. This paper will form part of the P4 – Transducers paper session on Thursday, October 9 from 2:30 – 5:30 pm.

SoundCheck and Electroacoustic Training Oct 2014

trainingWe have a great training line-up in Santa Clara on October 6-8, 2014! Our popular 2-day SoundCheck training course (Oct 7-8) is partnered with a one-day ‘Introduction to Electroacoustics’ course (Oct 6), taught by Chris Struck. Attendees may attend all 3 days, or just the electroacoustics or SoundCheck training.

The 2 day SoundCheck course covers all aspects of using the SoundCheck software from setup and calibration through to writing sequences and understanding the software’s advanced options.

The electroacoustic course focuses on the fundamentals of electroacoustic measurements, including principles of acoustics, instrumentation, and data interpretation as well as practical information on how to perform appropriate tests.

See Us at ALMA – Jan 2014

almalogoListen will be exhibiting at the ALMA Winter Symposium at the Tuscany Hotel in Las Vegas on Jan 4-5 2014. The ALMA show, immediately before CES is a small conference focused on the Loudspeaker, headphone and microphone marketplace, with an excellent selection of training, papers and seminars from industry-leading experts. Listen will showcase its complete range of test hardware, demonstrate the soon-to-be-released SoundCheck 13 (see above) and invite you to participate in a headphone listening challenge.
Steve Temme will present a paper entitled ‘Advances in Impedance Measurement of Loudspeakers and Headphones’, which discusses a novel electrical circuit that offers single channel impedance measurements with similar accuracy to complex dual channel measurement methods, which is expected to become popular for high throughput production line measurement. Dan Knighten will present a tutorial entitled ‘A Practical approach to measuring MEMS microphones’. In this presentation, he will include a basic overview of MEMS microphones and their applications followed by practical demonstration of measurements.
